Dear Montville Residents,
    In a Town Council meeting on June 12th 2006, Mr. Joseph Dufrat asked that an ordinance
be created against the discharge of firearms in complaint of his neighbor, Mr. Guy Flatley's
practice of target shooting, albeit in a safe way in compliance with existing distance and
noise ordinances.  
    Monday, August 14th, the town council will meet and approve or deny the date of a
public hearing regarding this ordinance ( Suggested date being the 11th of September).
Town Council member, Mr. Howard R. Beetham, has already voiced support for this ordinance.
During this public hearing, the peoples veiws will be heard and then the Town Council
will be responsible for voting on it.  The public hearing and whatever letters, phone calls,
and emails we send now, are our only chance to let our veiws be heard and to let our
elected council members  know our opinions on this matter and I urge everyone to make it
count.  Below, I have included the names,and email addresses of your Town Council and I
ask that you get in contact with them, and inform them civily and politely of your veiw
on this proposed ordinance, while it is still only a proposed ordinance. Tell your
neighbors,family and friends, that if they disagree to speak out with you.  Remember, the system can't
 work, if the public doesn't speak up.
